Sarı bir ormanda ayrıldı yollar
Bir yöne aittim, düştüm kedere;
Tek başıma vermek için bir karar
Baktım gözlerimin gördüğü kadar
Yolların başını döndüğü yere;
Ötekini seçtim, güzel görünen,
Kim bilir belki birtalebi vardı,
Solmak istiyordusankibu çimen;
Kaldı ki iki yol da buna rağmen
Solup gitmişlerdi ve aynılardı;
Uzanan yolların değildi kara
Üstünü örten bin yaprak, o seher;
Sakladım ilk yolu başka bahara!
Yollar çıktığından diğer yollara,
Korktum, yoksa geri dönüşü eğer?
Yıllar sonra bile, her yerde hâlen
Anlatacağım bir bir ah çekerek:
Yollar ayrılmıştı ormanda ve ben
Yürüdüm daha az seçilmişinden
Tüm farkı yaratan bu olsa gerek.
